Overland Journal 2016 Editors' Choice
We are proud to announce that our tents won the Overland Journal 2016 Editors' Choice.
Premium roof top tents designed and handcrafted in Portugal. James Baroud roof top tents are designed to fit on the roof rack car or truck quickly.
James Baroud roof top tents were born out of necessity. Displeased with other roof top tents, co-founder Tony Partenio set out to create a roof top tent that could offer resistance to travel on harsh off road terrain, perform well under extreme weather and in extreme temperatures, and provide a sleek, streamlined, and aesthetically appealing tent that was prepared for anything.
And so James Baroud was born.
As rooftop tents go, this is about as good as it gets. It does take up a considerable amount of real estate on even a large roof, but nothing beats it in terms of set-up, take-down, or creature comforts. The quality is superb, the refinement unmatched, the price is even reasonable for what it is. James Baroud set out to make the best rooftop tent in the world, and I for one think he nailed it.
Given the superior materials and detailed construction, the three-year warranty seems like ample coverage against any potential defects. It’s a beautiful product that once again, was long overdue. Every time I walk to the car now, I want to go camping.
The Horizon Vision all but blew us away in our two part review, and we expect nothing less from the Nomad.
If tent camping seems like an attractive way of getting away from it all, but you don't want the hassle of setting up and transporting all the equipment, a rooftop tent is definitely worth considering. James Baroud makes hard-shell rooftop tents that pop up and are usable in mere seconds, and they go back together almost as quick.
Every detail was thought out by the design team and their experience as adventure 4WD drivers is evident. The aluminum frame and poles are extremely strong yet lightweight, and the tent opens quickly which is important when you get caught in unfriendly weather. Once unfolded, the tent provides plenty of room for up to three adults or a carload of kids and can be accessed on either side of the tent using the included aluminum extendable ladder.
I was going through all of our sleepers and looks like we have around 170 James Baroud Sleepers. The sleepers that are 4 plus years old and have been on many rentals and are still in good shape shows that James Baroud is a good product. And our renters are hard on equipment...
